How often should a cam belt be changed?
Typically every 40,000–100,000 miles or 4–10 years, depending on the manufacturer. Check your service book or text us your reg.
What happens if my cam belt snaps?
On many engines a snapped belt can cause serious engine damage — often far more expensive than a planned replacement.
Should I change the water pump too?
Where the water pump is driven by the cam belt, it's usually recommended to replace it at the same time to save paying labour twice.
How long does it take?
Most cam belt changes are done in a few hours, depending on the car.
